Q: Who is “Reliable HomeWorks?”
A:
Reliable HomeWorks offers Protection Programs that cover the repair and/or replacement of gas, water, and sewer lines that run from the curb box to the meter and inside the home and the repair and/or replacement of heating and cooling equipment. Reliable HomeWorks can save customers hundreds or thousands of dollars.


Q: What are the Line Protection Programs?
A:
The Line Protection Programs provide customers with protection from unexpected and costly repairs associated with the repair of line leaks and ruptures. Many customers do not know these lines are the responsibility of the homeowner, not the utility.  They find out after a line deteriorates and leaks, and they are faced with a sudden, costly repair bill.  These programs provide the customer with protection for a small monthly fee.  Reliable HomeWorks will repair or replace the line up to the maximum amount allotted, as long as the customer is current on his Program payments.

Q: How can these Programs help me?
A:
The Programs provide inexpensive protection from unexpected and costly repairs. They provide you peace-of-mind and eliminate the inconvenience of finding a contractor to do the repairs. Once you’ve enrolled and maintain your payment fees, your line/equipment will be repaired or replaced by an experienced and reputable contractor – at no cost to you.


Q: If my gas, water, or sewer service line or water service line needs to be replaced, what restoration work will be done?
A:
The Programs do not cover restoration of lawns, gardens, trees, shrubbery, walls, fences, paved or concrete surfaces, gravel, and structures.  When a line is repaired or replaced, site restoration is limited to backfilling.  The Programs do not cover property damage caused by heavy excavating equipment.  The Programs do not include hauling away of excess debris.


Q: If my gas in-house line needs to be repaired or replaced, what restoration work will be done?
A:
Restoration is limited to clean up of debris.  The Program does not cover restoration of concrete, plaster, dry wall, ceiling tile, paneling, paint and wallpaper.


Q: Is there a program to protect my furnace and air conditioner?
A:
Yes, we have a Heating & Cooling Protection Program that covers the cost of most parts and labor to repair a variety of heating and cooling systems.  These repairs are performed by qualified and experienced, qualified and experienced contractors.


Q: How do I know the work will be done professionally, and that the contractor is qualified?
A:
Reliable HomeWorks contracts only qualified, local, independent contractors to provide service for this program.


Q: What areas in Pennsylvania does Reliable HomeWorks offer coverage?
A:
HomeWorks covers parts of Western Pennsylvania mostly in Allegheny County. We also service parts surrounding Allegheny County in areas such as Washington, Beaver, Butler, Armstrong and Westmoreland Counties.


Q: What do I do if I smell gas?
A:
Call your gas company immediately. They will answer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.


Q: How long will it take to replace the lines?
A:
You must contact Reliable HomeWorks to report that the utility has condemned your line. A certified Reliable HomeWorks contractor will contact you within 18 hours of your claim.


Q: How much do the Line Protection Programs cost?
A:
Programs start at $4.30 a month, some more expensive than others. However, if you choose more than one program, there are discounts available for some programs.


Q: How will I be billed?
A:
You can be billed monthly with your gas bill, where available.  A separate page will be attached to your bill, which will itemize the Program(s) charges, payments, etc.  You can simply write one check for your gas bill and the Program(s) charges. Or you can prepay for any of the Programs.  If you prepay for six months, you receive one month free.  If you prepay for 12 months, you receive two months free.  Prepayments can be made via personal check.
